Bedtime Tales — Terms of Use

These terms are between you and Odyra AI, and they cover the Bedtime Tales app. Using the app means you accept them; if a child uses it, the parent or guardian who set it up accepts them on the child's behalf. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well; where the two differ, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.

What the app is

Bedtime Tales is a library of illustrated picture books for young children. Each book can be read on screen, listened to with its storyteller narration, or recorded by a parent and played back in their voice. It is meant to be used with a parent.

Using the books

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to read and play the books in the app, at home, for your own family. The stories, pictures, narration and music stay ours or our licensors'.

Please do not copy, record, share or publish the books, their pictures or their narration outside the app, or use them in any commercial way. The app covers itself while the screen is being recorded or mirrored, for this reason.

Your recordings

A recording you make of a book is yours. It stays on your device; we never receive it. Record only your own voice, or the voice of someone who has agreed to be recorded.

Recordings live only on the device they were made on. If you delete them, delete the app or lose the device, they are gone, and we have no copy to give back.

Free books and Unlock all books

Some books are free. Unlock all books opens every book in the library for as long as the subscription is active. It is sold through the App Store as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, and only after the parents' check.

• Free trial: The yearly plan may start with a free trial for Apple Accounts that have not had one. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it turns into a paid yearly subscription and your Apple Account is charged then.
• Renewal: A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn that off at least 24 hours before it ends. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours of the period ending.
• Cancelling: Cancel any time in Settings on your device, under your Apple Account, Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep every book until the period you have paid for ends.
• Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are Apple's to give. If Apple refunds you, the subscription ends when Apple says so.

Prices are shown in the app in your own currency before you buy. If a price changes, Apple tells you and asks you to agree before charging the new one. Which books are free, and which books are in the library, may change over time.

Who owns what

• Your recordings and your child's details: Yours. We claim nothing in them, and we never receive them.
• The app and the books: Ours. The app, its name, its icon, the stories, the pictures and the narration stay ours, and nothing here gives you a licence to copy them.
• Other people's work: The typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font License and the background music under the Pixabay Content License.

Things that go wrong

The app is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every book will always be available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer law of your own country that cannot be limited by agreement.

Changes and endings

We may change these terms. If a change matters — to the price, to what you get, to what you may do — we will say so in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will move. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version.

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. If we discontinue Bedtime Tales, we will not take a payment for a period we do not intend to serve.
