Hidden cameras in short-term rentals and changing rooms are a real and well-documented problem, and most advice about finding them is either useless or requires equipment you do not travel with.
The apps in this category are mostly ad-stuffed and overpromise wildly, which leaves people either paranoid or falsely reassured.
What it does
Built around four things.
Network scan
Lists devices sharing the Wi-Fi network and flags ones that identify as cameras — the fastest way to find a device that is streaming.
Infrared check
Many night-vision cameras emit IR that your phone's camera can see and your eyes cannot. Sweep the room and look for the glow.
Lens reflection sweep
Camera lenses retroreflect. The app drives the flash and highlights the distinctive returns that a lens gives back.

Straight answers.
Will this find every hidden camera?
No, and any app that claims otherwise is lying. A camera that records to local storage, is off the network, has no IR, and has a well-concealed lens can defeat all three methods. This raises your odds substantially; it does not guarantee a clean room.
Does it detect audio-only bugs?
Only if they are on the same Wi-Fi network and identify themselves. A passive audio recorder is not detectable by a phone.
Is the network scan legal?
Listing devices on a network you are legitimately connected to is generally fine. The app does not attempt to access, log into, or interfere with any device it finds.
What should I do if I find something?
Do not touch or dismantle it. Photograph it in place, leave the room, and contact local police and the platform you booked through. Disturbing it can destroy the evidence you would need.
Does it need internet?
The infrared and lens sweeps work fully offline. The network scan needs you to be connected to the Wi-Fi you want to check.
Are there ads?
No. An app people reach for when they feel unsafe should not be interrupting them to sell something.
